(NEW)The Great Dumbbell DVD

Over the years I have built up a significant home gym library of books, VHS tapes and DVDs. I am a fan of Andre Potvin’s Great Exercise Handbooks and was excited to hear that The Great Dumbbell exercises were available on a newly released DVD. I have always trusted Andre and those that he teaches because of his extensive knowledge and background in health and fitness training and education. He truly cares about improving people’s lives and keeps at the forefront of the industry using the most current exercise research science available. So I was sure this would be an awesome workout….and I was right.
This is THE most progressive and complete strength training workout that I have ever seen. Each exercise is laid out with an incredible visual of exactly what muscles you will be engaging throughout the exercise. There is no other DVD (that I’m aware of) that allows you to see which muscles are targeted. This gives me the ability to focus on the muscles I should be using for each exercise. It’s honestly like having a personal trainer RIGHT THERE!
What I liked most about the exercises themselves is that the movements are slow and controlled. It forces you to engage the muscle groups throughout each rep. This is a vast difference from most of my other strength training workouts that use momentum to complete each rep.
Every exercise is done in 2 sets and the DVD incorporates 30 second breaks between sets so you don’t have to watch a clock. It also features helpful information at the start of the DVD and offers beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I have done this workout a few times since I received it and absolutely LOVE it!
I have purchased, and been disappointed by, more than my fair share of workout/strength training DVD’s....but the Great Dumbbell DVD delivers! I can’t wait for the next in the series – keep‘em coming!

This book is excellent. We just purchased a huge Weider home gym and the only
information we received was a wall poster with small pictures of every exercise
available on all types of home equipment--not just the one we purchased. It is
almost no help at all. We did not receive any information on how to use the
machine, safety, form, etc. I did considerable research and finally found the
Great Home Gym Handbook. I received it today and have already read most of it.
It explains in detail how to use each piece of the equipment. It also includes
tips on warm-up, form, etc. Anyone who uses home fitness equipment must have
this book! |

I have been using
The
Great Body Ball Handbook for several months now. The exercises are straightforward and easy to follow. The book has a good selection of exercises to
choose from and I have started to notice the results. I would recommend this
book to anyone using a body ball.

Finding the motivation to exercise is a challenge at the best of times. I used
The Ultimate Weight Training Journal in conjunction with the "Body for Life"
program and have noticed some incredible results. Keeping a written journal
makes my time at the gym much more efficient: I know what I'm doing next and I
know exactly what I did on my last workout. I used the Nutrition Optimizer to
check and adjust my meals. Overall, I think this book is a must for anyone
serious about attaining their goals. |
